North of Léon lake, less than a kilometre from Vielle and 4km from Vielle Saint Girons, the lakeside beach in Vielle offers a calm and unspoilt setting in the Landes. This small cove is sheltered from the winds, shallow and supervised in summer, making it the perfect spot for families where children can swim safely. A parking area makes it easy to get to the beach, water sports centre and the restaurant. A shaded picnic area is also available.
Not to be missed:
Partially classified as a nature reserve and a Natura 2000 site, Léon lake is very popular with nature lovers. “Le Col Vert” campsite near Vielle beach is the starting point for a lovely walk through the nature reserve to admire the fauna and flora.
