Located right next to the central beach, on the Coastal Conservatory (Conservatoire du Littoral), La Gravière beach is a fine sand beach which is very popular for its unspoilt and quiet nature but is a little more difficult to access. It is right in front of one of the most famous surf spots on the Landes coast because of its powerful waves. The beach is supervised during the summer. It is well equipped and features a free parking area, bars, ice cream parlours and the restaurants on Place des Landais.
Not to be missed:
Come and admire “the Wave” mural behind the Place des Landais, which depicts a giant wave in honour of the role of the ocean and surfing in the Landes. It’s the perfect spot to take some pictures to remember your trip!
